Performing hearts and Mental health

About

We're looking to partner with vocal coaches, mentors, and mental health experts in the performing arts to offer support for individuals. Our aim is to create a safe space for people to pursue their passions and overcome challenges.

Reality

It takes a lot of courage to stand up on stage and share your thoughts and feelings with strangers. Especially when your thoughts and feelings are mostly negative and self-critical.  (Woman on stage) But I do it anyway. Because performing is also therapeutic. It helps me express myself. It helps me cope. It helps me connect. It helps me heal. It helps me grow. It helps me live. Performing is my passion. And my salvation. So, thank you for being here. Thank you for listening. Thank you for laughing. Thank you for understanding. Thank you for accepting. Thank you for supporting. Thank you for being part of my journey. And I hope I can be part of yours.   Thank you. Good night.

Your support can help us provide resources available for our local participants.

Mental health and performing arts are closely intertwined. Engaging in performing arts can have a positive impact on mental health by providing an outlet for self-expression, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting social connections. Additionally, the performing arts can be used as a tool for raising awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues.
